damn small linux wireless adapter issue

Hello,

I am a Linux noob so I would appreciate some fully explained help.

I have an old laptop that I am running Puppy Linux on and everything worked out of the box, but I tried Damn Small Linux and I think I like it more.

The only problem is it doesn't recognize my wireless card. I was reading on the ds linux forums that my wireless adapter CAN work but you have to do some stuff. (I would post on their forum but for some reason it won't let me make any threads or posts even though I registered).

I found this thread that "describes" how to get the adapter I have working:
iB::Topic::SMC usb g runs

But as I said, I am a pretty big noob, and really have no idea what that post is saying, so I am hoping someone can help me figure out what it is I need to do.

Thanks!

wireless cards require either ndiswrapper or madwifi drivers to configure

as what flopypl has written, do list down your wifi card manufacturer, model so we can see which driver suits you.

type this command: lspci and post the results of your hardware information

hmmm...

look here: http://www.smc.com/index.cfm?event=d...adType=1&os=12

there you have manufacturer's drivers for linux 2.6.x with a quite promissing manual.
