dailup in mandrake 9.0


hey!
tried kppp in mandrake 9.0. am able to connect(shows an icon saying
connected to n/w)...when i try accessing some website-says host not found...at times the kpppd dies unexpectedly!! please help
thanx in advance!!

In the kppp setup try manually entering your ISP's DNS numbers.

and make sure that you have the "firewall" facility disabled, it is often started by default in 9.0 and 9.1, but until you have the net connection thing sorted, I'd wait and get that sorted afterwards.

Just for info, I never did manage to sort out the "shorewall" facility with 9.0 (got an idea that there is something wrong with it), I was in the middle of trying to firewall 9.0 with guarddog, when the 9.1 came out, so I bought a copy of that and got it going instead.
