D-link 131 nano wifi adapter not detected by Bactrack 5 Linux

I have backtrack 5 installed and operated in Vmplayer 3.0.1, on plugging in the D-link 131 nano wifi usb device, the Vmplayer shows the usb icon for the D-link device active which i set it connect. However, on installing the drivers for the device it prompt with the command "wireless adapter not found, continue installing the device, please plug in the DWA-131 device and click yes."
By the D-link is working properly in the main windows 7.

this is a VERY WELL KNOWN issue with vmware and EVERY VM client
you CAN NOT ACCESS THE WIFI USING A VM

do a REAL install
install BT on the drive

also backrack is designed FOR security EXPERTS !!! by security EXPERTS for SECURITY EXPERTS to use

please earn a 4 year degree in CS and work on a masters in computer security THEN use BT

Thanks John VV for the reply.

However, I am not clear about,"Do a real Install and install BT on the drive."
The BT5R1-GENOME-VM-32, I assume is only for virtual machine.

I have seen youtube video using usb wifi, vm and BT4(backtrack 4 usb wifi & net set on vm for dummies - YouTube). You said,"you CAN NOT ACCESS THE WIFI USING A VM" how come they can use BT on VM?
