Hallo,

I'am about to switch back to linux, I've been there and back several times and I've choosen Gentoo this time.

I was wondering if anyone has any links to simple how-to / faqs for those that possibly have no clue what they are doing?

I've read these how-tos and they are talking about making space-age fuel for chicken processing machines to me.

I know MS products well, know what I'm doing with a computer and have used linux for a total of a 18 months overall, relearning everytime basically.

(Only problem is not knowing much about linux)

Was also wondering if anyone would be willing to let me bug them on an instant messeging service, incase I need help of course...I will only ask when I can't find the answer, and I have RTFM and will...twice more.

Gentoo is very hands on... If you're vaguely grasping operating Linux, you'll possibly be left high and dry.

I don't know whether you've given Slackware a try... it's very hand-on but still newbie-friendly to an extent. Just don't expect GUIs everywhere... basically the same with Gentoo.
