currupted development packages
 

Ive been trying install the development packages so that I have a working compiler on my system. However, when I try to install C and C++ files I get the following errors to some effect:

Sorry, files can not be installed
Files corrupted
Files needed, can't be found

Installation Aborted!

What should I do. Im I just S.O.L?

What are you using to install these files?
What's the exact syntax of the program you're invoking (What are you typing in exactely and where?)

And.. what package is this? rpm? portage? debian?
