CUPS printing error

hi guys, i'm having problems with my printer EPSON LX-300+ to print from cups and from console, i just can't print! hehe i type:

lpr "file"
lp "file"
lpr -PEpson_DotMatrix "file"
lpr "file" -o document-format=application/pdf

and none of them prints, i've reinstalled the cups even my printer and the server keeps giving me this message:

"/usr/lib/cups/filter/foomatic-rip failed"

Every attempt to print, cups shows that message and in the "JOBS" tab my file appears with the state of "stopped", please help, if anyone knows another way to print or something to fix cups it will help me a lot.

thanks in advance Frame360!

Do you have foomatic installed? Do you need it?

If you want more detail on what is going on, you should enable debug level logging and then check the log after a print attempt. It will give you a much better idea of why you're getting that error.

I presume with the number of installs of CUPS you've done that you know by now how to get to the admin web interface to enable the debug mode and to see the logs...
