Cups: Print file sent, waiting for printer to finish..

Hi,

System specs:RED HAT 9
cups-libs-1.1.22-0.rc1.9.10
hal-cups-utils-0.5.2-8
libgnomecups-0.1.12-5
cups-1.1.22-0.rc1.9.10

I have got a cups printer problem:

-a default printer is used for a couple of users through linux server
using cups
-at random intervals the printer stops printing.

When I:
lpstat -p default

get: printer printer is idle. enabled since Jan 01 00:00
Print file sent, waiting for printer to finish...

So basicly I press restart/start on the printer and it starts with
the printing again.

Question: What cause this problem?
How can I fix it?

Thanks in advance!

What make & model is the printer, how does it connect to the machine?
Have you looked at cups' logs? Anything printer-related in dmesg?

Cheers,
Tink

Hi,

Using about 25 printers, JetDirect connection all.
Didn't find anything in my dmesg of printing.
Cups logs: nothing strange in here.

This problem hasn't happened since last week tuesday.
Seems to have resolved itself.

Any suggestions would help.
Thanks
