Ctrl + Alt + Backspace = Restart X and Sleep ????

Hey guys,

im using redhat 9.0, and on all previouse installs ctrl + alt + backspace used to restart X.

but on this install, it also turns my monitor off, and puts the pc into sleep mode (power light flashes and hard disks spin down)

this is sooo anoying. and on one occasion when i brought it out of spleep mode, the hda did not power up (so i could not shut down)

it just gave me a..
hda: interupt lost
message every 5 or so seconds.

what could have gone wrong, and how do i get it back to normal.. ?

any surgestions apreciated.
ThanX.
