creative muvo flash drive mp3 player
 

i'm running suse 9.1 personal on a p3 1ghz and same os on a dell 2650 laptop p4 1.7ghz. i have a creative labs muvo 128mb mp3 player/flash drive and on both machines when i plug the flashdrive into a usb port, suse detects the drive, mounts it and opens a konquerer window that lists the files. i can play the mp3s from the drive and i can even delete files from the drive, but when i try to write to the drive (when plugged into either machine), it will write 32k to 160k and stall out. from that point on, i can't access the drive until i reboot. when i click on the drive from the 'my computer' icon on the desktop, it pops up a window that says the drive isn't mounted. yast sees the device as a 125mb windows file system drive. can't exactly recall, as i'm not at home at the moment, but i'm pretty sure i even installed an update module for the muvo drive. i'm still extremely new to linux (of any flavor). please excuse me if i've just missed something obvious. ideas? thanks

well, no replies yet. i would suppose mine isn't a common problem. yet, i'm still trying to figure out how to fix it. thanks for any ideas.

Perhaps not so common, but is bound to become one.
Anyway, I have a similar problem.

I have a MuVo Slim 256 MB player.
My system is a PII 400MHz, USB1.0. I am running SUSE 9.1.
The Muvo Slim is recognised as a USB hard-drive on USBView, however when I try to open the folder using Konquerer, I get that unfortunate "can not open folder ..." error message that I used to get for all my USB drives before SUSE patched their drivers.
(Generic USB hard drives work just fine since that was fixed... all but this player in any case. I have to plug it up to my laptop, which runs XP, in order to use it at all.)

So, since my PII is a Linux only box, and It holds all my LP recordings, ripped CD's, etc.... I rather want to see this player work on it. I don't want to lug my laptop home just to transfer files (though, by all rights, I have to use the laptop for encoding unless I want to wait for hours on end...)
