Creating your own Linux ISO

Ive been using Slackware for about a couple of years. And so far so good. However, I have a question...

Is there a way to say..copy the slaware installation disc to a folder in my PC, then edit it(aka adding removing packages, altering installer, etc...) and then create a bootable ISO image out of it?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
