Creating kde splash screen boot screen

i was just wondering if yall had some advice on how to edit and make my own kde splash screen and how i would go about making a boot screen for lilo. I want a custom thing from when it asks me which os i want to boot (i have dual boot) all the way to (autologin) kde when it starts loads and idles. Im trying to make my desktop experience on linux totally custom so any info you can give me would be helpful. i know about karamba and ive seen other peoples splash screens for X11/kde @ kde-look.org but there is not alot of tutorials out there and its really bugging me cause i really dont wont to use the themes and splash screens mandrake provides. i make my own backgrounds using gimp becuase alot of other peoples stuff may be cool but i want my own. I also want to know how to edit (verbose or really in depth) kde's colors and windows. I like the MGBRIEZH theme but i still want to know how they made it so i can. Thanks -- Chris
