creating GUI on linux

Hi to all,

This is Tamil. I am new to embedded linux and our i am asked to create GUI for arm targetboard.i could not get beginner tutorial for creating GUI.i have no idea about GUI on linux.i want to create simple GUI on linux.can anyone help me? i am weak in english.if anything is wrong, sorry for that.

For GUI developing you need a toolkit, e.g. QT (used by KDE) or GTK+ (used by Gnome) or Swing (the Java built in Toolkit) For QT and GTK+ there are several language bindings like C, C++, Python, etc, while Swing obviously is only available via Java ;-) But it could be handy, if you're programming in Java anyway.
For each of these Toolkits you'll find several Howtos on the net if you ask the internet-search of your choice.
