Creating bootable CDROM

I am looking for a method to create linux bootable cdrom's on a win 98 box and or copy linux bootable cdrom's. Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be a great help. Thank you.

Here's a little guide from the slackware live site.

Why do you want to make a bootable cdrom?

The only access I have to the Internet is some one else's PC running win 98. It has a HP CD burner on it. So I hope to down load Linux to build a boot cdrom.

What distro are you using? Don't they offer isos?

Well I haven't pick a distro yet. I'm just wondering if the win box will do the job???

Yes the win box will do the job. Most distros have isos and that means that you can just download, burn in a burning program and you are ready to install.

Ok. Thank you. I was thinking there was some thing different about the boot track on the cd.
