creating a new path for scripts
I have, over a period of time, written a bunch of differeint scripts that have actually been very helpful. I am always tweaking them and goofing around with them and all of them are located in /bin and I want to move them. I created a directory... /scripts and I put all of the scripts that I have written in there and I want to be able to utilize those scripts without having to cd into /scripts.
I added '/scripts' to $PATH in ~/.bash_profile, then 'sourced' .bash_profile and no luck. After I did this and say I was in /home/bob and typed the name of a script that is located in /script, I got the message 'command not found'.
How do I add a newly created directory to my path so the scripts will be accessilble from the command line?
