Creating a Log file

I am currently trying to intall Oracle 10g on Suse 9.1 but the computer boots me off everytime I run the Installer. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with creating a long file for the installation so I can see what went wrong. what do i need to add after ./runInstaller to create a log file? thank you.

You could try a
./runInstaller > ~/install.log 2>&1
