creating a boot disk :: rawrite problems
 

Well, the computer I'm trying to install Red Hat (7.2) on is too old to recognize booting off a CD, so I started trying to create a boot disk for it. However, when I run rawrite from my Red Hat CD (like the Red Hat documentation suggests) I get this (see below). I've tried multiple disks, all formated under Windows 2000 Professional. If anyone has any ideas on how to get past this and continue with my life, I'd be most grateful. (And, no, using a newer computer that can boot off a CD really isn't an option. :)

F:\dosutils>rawrite
Enter disk image source file name: ..\images\boot.img
Enter target diskette drive: a:
Please insert a formatted diskette into drive A: and press -
Can't figure out how many sectors/track for this diskette.

Did you format the disk as an msdos or fat disk? It won't work with an ntfs disk.

It's formated as a FAT disk.

If you are using rawrite from within a W2K command line window, then you should be using rawritent.exe. That should also be on your RedHat CD.

Thanks for the help -- I actually couldn't find a copy of rawritent.exe, but knowing that W2k was my problem i was able to make a boot disk on someone else's system to help get started. I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future, though. :)
