create a private domain among 3 ubuntu os.
hi guys
i want to create a private network between 3 ubuntu(s) installed in oracle virtual box.. i want 1 of them to be a server 1 to be a client and the 3rd one to be a certification authority(kerberos/X.509 CA) first help me to connect 3 ubuntu(s) to form a private network. all 3 are in my laptop which runs win 7. and is connected to wifi. thank you... |
on windows 7 at cmd run ipconfig and paste the results here.. you have install 3 ubuntus on virtualbox ?... during installtion of ubuntu did you gave manual ips ? or automatic ?
|
also the one vm which you want to be server. what kind of server you want it to be. ftp ? nfs ? http ? samba ? give the whole information in detail ... you have to run atleast 2 .. is your hardware capable enuff ? and you dont need wifi router to make a private network between 3 vms as they are connected through virtual bridge.

can you run one of your virtual machines and type ifconfig in terminal and paste the output here ?

not ipconfig of windows ...
run your virtual machine inside virtualbox .. in ubuntu terminal .. run command ifconfig and paste the output here.. |

so i looged in thru ubuntu... eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 08:00:27:21:88:64 inet addr:10.0.2.15 Bcast:10.0.2.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 inet6 addr: fe80::a00:27ff:fe21:8864/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:11 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:71 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:2150 (2.1 KB) TX bytes:11743 (11.7 KB) lo Link encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:16 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:16 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:1296 (1.2 KB) TX bytes:1296 (1.2 KB) |
