Create a bootable Windows 8.1 DVD from Linux Mint or Ubuntu?

I don't currently have any OS in my laptop. I booted it from Linux Mint 18 Xfce Live USB. I have a DVD to which I want to burn Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and make it bootable. I would like to know, if Ubuntu built in ISO image writer, can make burn the Windows 8.1 (64-bit) iso to bootable.

If not, are there any alternatives to burn Windows 8.1 (64-bit) ISO as bootable to a DVD from Linux Mint 18 Xfce USB?

I don't see why not. As far as any writer is concerned it is just another DVD. It couldn't care what the actual contents are.

Do you "own" a licensed iso of Windows 8.1? That is, one that you have paid for, as Windows and other Microsoft products are proprietary and not free. (OK, you just pay for the license to use it!)

If so...

Any of the CD/DVD burning software included in Ubuntu or Mint, e.g. Brasero, K3b, etc. would then be able to produce a bootable CD/DVD.

Does that answer your question?

If you're trying to rip off and copy Windows 8.1 which is illegal, we can't help you.

Oh! and try not to double post.

Play Bonny!
