Create a bare metal backup of RHEL 5 to a bootable DVD?

Is it possible to create a bare metal backup of RHEL 5 to DVD and make it bootable?

If so, please can someone assist?

I have seen that you can use 'tar' to create almost this, but as this is my first time doing any of this, I am finding it hard to understand.

Many Thanks in advance,

Lee

Why want a bootable backup ?

If you are talking about a live DVD, it is available ..
from Scientific Linux, which is one of the free versions
of Redhat EL 5.x. http://distrowatch.com/?newsid=05399

If you want to create a live-DVD from your own content,
there are tools to do that ... e.g.
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FedoraLiveCD/LiveCDHowTo
.....
