CRC error --System Halted !!!

I was trying to install RedHat 9 on my Compaq Box. When starting the installation, it’s giving glibc-common- error and ending the installation saying this is a fatal error.

So, I have moved to RedHat 7.1 it’s finished the installation but when booting it’s says uyncompressing Linux and

CRC error

--System Halted

I have go trough the all pervious posts on this error. But still didn’t find a solution.

Is there any one can give me some help would be highly appreciated.

(This is my first installation of LINUX or RedHat. I have followed the Installation guide provided RedHat 7.1)

Did you download that version by any chance? If you did, did you match the md5checksums?

Sorry for the inconvenient trickykid !

But this time it's gonna be a success story !

Any way, thank you very much psyno, i have solved the problem !

My hard disk was having some problem. After I replace a new hard drive, all went as normal !

Now I'm on a REDHat 9 BOX at the moment !
