CPU overload warning

I just got this warning and i don't know what this means.

A couple of minutes ago i was looking at KDE System Guard and it showed 100% cpu usage, i closed it thinking nothing of it but then about a minuite later this came up.

Is linux about to blow my cpu?

Or is my CPU about to blow and linux warned me?

On most computers you can set the bios to make a warning sound if the cpu temprature goes beyond a certain point. If you suspect that your cpu gets overheated use it.

If you have a fairly new cpu (pentium 4 or AthlonXP) you don't have to worry at all. All new cpus shuts down automatically if overheated beyond a critical point.

I have an AMD Athlon XP 2000+

CPU temperature has always been fine on my computer. Stays arround 50C and doesn't really go above it. My computer has been left on for days and days without problems so the CPU temperature is not a problem. (Its the hard disks that i worry about)

I'm just asking because it said overload not overheat. Is linux trying to use more processing power than my computer has??

100% CPU usage just means that the CPU has work to do and it is getting the work done. I have one of my machines dedicated to one program because the CPU usage can be at 100% for DAYS. This makes it hard for me to use other programs on that box, so it just uses the one and it's tasks.
