couple of questions (sound and x windows related)
I recently got sound to work on my system (Slackware 9.1). Well, mostly working. It works with mplayer, gaim, xmms, etc. It doesn't work with mozilla. Is this a common issue? I'm ready to reinstall mozilla, but if that's not necessary I'd rather not bother. It might be a Flash issue (that was the only way i tested sound).

Here's an X / window manager related issue. The fonts used by gaim and mozilla are hugenormous. web content is normal sized, but the font for menus ("File", "Edit"), everything in gaim, etc is unusually large. what do i need to do to edit the font size used by programs in x?

Abt the sound in mozilla, dont bother urself with a reinstall. Mozilla doesnt support it.

It depends on what kind of sound you're referring to; if you get the flash plugin, then flash sounds should work just fine. The same goes for the RealPlayer plugin. I haven't had any experience with other audio formats in mozilla, though.

Once you've got sound working, you might want to see if you can adjust treble and bass with noticeably effects on the sound. (You can move around the sliders in aumix, but they might not have any effect.) I read the ALSA documentation, and it indicated that I'd have to recompile the kernel certain modules loaded/unloaded to get adjustable treble and bass.

If you can adjust treble bass, then great.
