couple of newbie printing questions
 

I'm trying to print to an epson stylus c60 attached via parallel port to my computer which is running Mandrake 8.0.

What's the difference between using lp and CUPS. Which is better? When I run printtool, the printer reports itself wrong and the c60 driver isn't listed in the driver list. I've found some cups drivers, but should I keep looking for lp drivers?

I figured out that lpq shows me what's in my print queue, but how do I clear it out? Other than finding, deleting the files.

How can I tell if the printer is connected under CUPS or lp? I picked lp in the printtool setup, but the test files in my print queue are under /usr/share/cups/data.

The command for removing print jobs are lprm.
