There's only so much that any of us can do for someone who turns to the Internet to "find the right answer" instead of educating himself.
That person might manage to wax his way through a course, or even a course-of-study, without actually learning anything. S/He then goes into the work world, full of misplaced self-confidence, and washes out.
It's frustrating as an instructor, too. I simply focused my teaching efforts on the people (adults, mostly ...) who wanted to learn, and who understood what that actually requires of them, and who were willing to do it. I'm pleased to say that the majority of my (community college) students made "A's." And a certain percentage withdrew. If they stuck with it to the end, they succeeded.
