Could someone tell me how to install xine?

Could someone tell me how to install xine?

I have downloaded what I thought were the right .rpm
but when I run them they say I need more files.

What are the needed files and what is the correct order to install the necessary files?
I have tried reading through the xine faqs but I am not getting the hang of this installation.

I am using Red Hat 8 on an Athlon TBird based PC

Hi!

You will need the following:
http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrp...0-fr1.i386.rpm
http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrp...ta9.1.i386.rpm
http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrp...ta9.1.i386.rpm
http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrp...fr1.noarch.rpm

And then to install them, login as root and type into a command line:
Code:
rpm -ivh xine-0.9.20-fr1.i386.rpm xine-lib-1.0.0-fr0.beta9.1.i386.rpm xine-lib-devel-1.0.0-fr0.beta9.1.i386.rpm xine-skins-1.5-fr1.noarch.rpm
Make sure you are in the directory containing the RPM's.

Your other choice is to get apt and synaptic and use these tools to satisfy dependencies for you, I HIGHLY recommend this as it's great for not only xine but for any applications you want to install in the future:
http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrp...h80.1.i386.rpm
http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrp...h80.1.i386.rpm
http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrp...2-fr2.i386.rpm

HTH

Cool
