Are you able to SSH into the machine you are trying to create users on and create them directly on there?

Hi Kasl33,
i am logging into the server with my NIS client via SSH only. I saw some of the older LQ threads suggests to stop "ypbind" services and then to give a try. But i am not in the postition to stop the ypbind services.
Regards
Kingston

If the NIS server is running RHEL5.x, the tool versions may be incompatible with 4.x .
Also, RHEL4.x has not been supported since Feb 2012 https://access.redhat.com/support/po...pdates/errata/, unless you pay extra for EUS (see that link).
