Could anyone please help a noob out ?

System specks for Comp in question.
Comp has a 4200+ amd 64 dual core
2gb ram
Soundblaster x-fi sound card
60gb HDD
Opperating system currently

My intention since this is a secondary comp is to Leave Vista in working order for wife and Install Suse 10.3 in dual boot fashion for me to play with.

Here is what I have done so far.
-Used Acronis Disk director to create a 20.8gb primary partition for Suse to install to.
-Downloaded and burnt the Suse 10.3 X86_64 iso.
-Booted Iso in my Vista/Suse box
-Im all the way through the initial network setup and time zone to the installation and it gives me these options;
1. Shrink windows partition to 20.8gb
2. Create extended partition (12.2gb)
3. Create swap partition
4. Create partition
And a couple others that I'm pretty sure arent needed.

I have no idea which to choose.

Also In a guide I read it says that at some point before the installation it will ask wether to use GNOME or KDE and that never came up.

Little help please???

I would have sugggested shrinking the Windows partition and then leaving the rest of the disk UNUSED that would allow linux to automatically partition and make use of the unused Disk space during install.

Linux at the Very least should have a data partition and a swap partition.

Well I chose to shrink. Hopefully that will work out :P There isnt really anything on the Vista Its just a Pain to re-install + drivers+ other apps.

Vista still works (yay)
Im trying to set up my network shareing now.. Im going through alot of samba setup .. Isnt there a more straightforward method ?

Well I already have it networked and sharing on the network with my Xp box .. But my Suse installation is on the same HDD as my Vista on this box. Is there a way to get it to see the data in the vista partition of the HDD.. Id have it labeled as D on my Desktop but when I attempt to open it I get an error saying " Unable to mount the selected volume"
