Your brain and search engines are now your best friends. Attach "linux beginner" or "linux newbie" to any new words, keywords, or errors you want to know more about and you'll get results targeted for beginners. That doesn't always work out but that's part of the learning experience.
Be an information sponge. Read, read, read. Wikipedia is a great source. linuxquestions.org is another great source. Use the search engines in them. The man pages are another source of information you're going to eventually want to know about. Again, use the search engines to find out what the 'man pages' are and how to use them.
There are multiple choices on: http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/iso/
Unless you expect to install on multiple PCs or multiple times, I suggest the NET for i586, which fits a CD and gives the complete set of all software to choose from, and only causes download of software packages that are to be installed: openSUSE-Tumbleweed-NET-i586-Current.iso
Of course, OpenSuse Tumbleweed is a rolling distro, unlike Debian Stable - you should understand the difference, decide which one you actually want to use, and focus on it.
