Copy more than files from hdfs to my local directory


Dear all,
i have about 6000 file in hdfs, and i want to copy them from hdfs to my local directory. i have to put the names of the files in txt and script has to read this txt file and copy it to my local directory. how possible to do that?

Back in my college days in one of the classes, I remember something very similar given to me by my professor as a homework.

Can you share with us what have you done so far?

thank you for the answer. i am still trying to figure out of this. i didnt start it yet, i wrote here to get if there is any idea about that.

Personally, I'd just use the command line to copy them over.

But, if this is homework, check out :-

for <file> in <filename> do copy to directory.
