Copy folders without overwriting
Hi Guys,
I was copying a folder that includes multiple sub-folders from one directory to another overnight but due to some network problems, the copying process stopped. I want to start from the time point at which the copying stopped or at least not copying sub-folders and files that were copied successfully. i.e only copying files that have not been copied yet. Thanks in advance Ali |
rsync with the --size-only if you favour speed.
man rsync for more info |
If you are familiar with RSYNC then that is probably best.
Locally, I use update, to only copy files that are newer than in dest. >> cp -u <src> <dest> |
Agreed with firerat.
rsync is the nice option to copied files & folder. He has suggested man rsync to know more about it and use correct and desired option. |
