Copy folders

I'm new to linux so bear with me.
I have a pc with 2 hdd and running linux off a cd . How can I copy everything on one hard drive to another?

Easiest way is to use dd which stands for diskdump


dd if=/dev/hda1 of=/dev/hdb1

That would copy everything from hard drive hda1 to hdb1.. hda would be your first primary master drive and hdb would be your secondary master slave drive.. have I confused you even more now?
