Copy files between 2 servers using SCP command.

Hi friend,

I'm trying to copy my files from previous server to my new server in SSH, using SCP command below (in draft)

scp -P 22 -r root@IP:/home/folder/public_html /home/folder/

But I don't know which is the destination and source?. And which server I need to login first to give that command?

The format of the scp command is well documented, it's the server/path FROM and the server/path TO

So in your example you're trying to copy from a remote machine specified by IP to the /home/folder/ of the localhost.

So what server do you need to login to first? Whichever one you want as long as you correctly supply the source and destination.
