Copy directory from Linux box to Windows Share

I have a directory on a Linux box that I'd like to copy over to a Windows share. I'd like to copy all the files in the directory including all subdirectories (preserving permissions). Is there a way to issue a "cp" command as "root" and copy these files via UNC path or do I have to mount the drive?

If I have to mount the drive, how do I mount a Windows share drive prior to issuing the CP command?

Thanks.

cp -apr will works maybe?
here what i read in the manual:
-a : archive
-r : recursive, so directories are also copied
-p : preseve (ownership, timestamp)
