Copy and Paste Not Working.

In Linux, if I copy a few lines from my browser to Abi Word or to a text editor. It doesn't work. In some instances, shift and insert works from the browser to the text editor. But overall, copy and paste is very bad please help. Thanks.

Try highlighting the text, leaving it highlighted, then switching to the program/window where you want to paste and clicking the middle mouse button. This will paste it regardless of what key escape sequences you've been using to copy+paste.

Thanks. Now I understand, it is a little different from they way it is done in Windows.

Indeed; since there is not exactly one unified standard for copying and pasting text throughout many programs (like, maybe one program uses Shift+Insert for paste, whereas another might use Ctrl+V like Windows), we can use the standard provided through the XWindows system, which is the middle-click system. It takes some getting used to, but it can be faster than Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V once you get used to it.
