Coping installed ns2 folder to another location and reinstall it

what would happen if I copy ns-allinone in another location and reinstall it by ./install ?
can I do that ?

The answer to that is yes and no, I am not familiar with that application but the old adage in Linux is that everything is a file. I commonly will just copy across custom compiled versions of tomcat and java and they run just fine as long as the appropriate libraries get installed. You would have to figure out what libs and/or other files that application depends on and copy them across or install them on the new system.
