Converting Various .avi and other files in Ubuntu 9.04
G'day to LQ and all it's posters.:):confused:
have only been Ubuntuing for about 6mths I have Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 64 bit am trying convert downloaded movies but some are .avi and mVs also other m$ formats some apps that I download that said to do the job say wrong architecture so I am left perplexed as to what to do.:scratch: PS have ffmpeg, xine, dragon player, vlc, mplayer, movie player and devede and still there is some .formats that I just cant read let alone convert please help as my kids are on the warpath.:cry: |

convert them to what format?
ffmpeg is a good general purpose converter if you don't mind the command-line, but you say you already have tried that. can you be more specific, maybe give us an example of one file you've tried to convert and failed? |
