convert wmv to mpeg-4?

I've tried searching Google but I can't find anything, any ideas how I can do this? Needs to be mpeg-4, don't think mpeg-2 will work on this device

Well you could try "mplayer". If you can play it with mplayer, you're able to convert it ino some sort of mpeg-4 with "mencoder".

What do you need it for? You mentioned something about a "device".
