convert utility

im trying to use the convert utility with the -size option.
nothing is happening.
can someong give a working example to turn a jpeg 400x600 to a jpeg 1024x860 ?????

use the -geometry thingie
like convert -geometry 1024x860 original.jpg outputname.jpg
u can also use -geometry in combination with % like 135%
for inst.

Could you make your title longer in future - sorry I know moderators are meant to do this but something like 'Problems with jpg convert utility' would be really helpful.
