convert ext2 to ext3

I am running Suse 8.2 and partition iis Ext2.Is there an easy way to convert to Ext3 without uninstalling and re-partitioning?

Welcome to LQ.

I think there is a program in e2fsprogs that can do it. Make sure you backup your data first though.

Yep! You can use the command:

tune2fs -j /dev/hda1
Remember to update your /etc/fstab file with the new file system type.
