controller


i have a Saitek p2500 rumble controler

i play zsnes and mame type games in linux

what steps what i take to get this controller working?




its usb style controller i am using kernel v 2.6.10 w/ gentoo l
i can recompile if needed

Sorry citrus don't know about that, but you could try checking with the gentoo monsters they can usually point you in the right direction.

i don't think this one is a gentoo situation

more of a linux in general situation

i just need like a controller tutorial
or a driver
or maybe a certain program

or prolly all 3

just a little advise from someone that has gotton a controller/joystick working in linux

You just need to load the "joydev" module with "modprobe joydev" et voila. I tried zsnes with another rumble saitek joypad and it works like a charm.
You can see if it works by doing a "cat /dev/input/js0" which should produce a lot of garbage and even more when you play with the joypad. Hope that helps.
