control a windows system from linux
 
mandrake 10.0
i have installed samba and NFS.
can i control a full of windows system from my running linux box.

if i mean control including reboot it and shutdown that system also.
is it possible by an SAMBA configuration commands.

It is not possible with Samba, but you might want to look into TightVNC or RealVNC...

try telnet but you need to set it up on the windows pc to be able to logon to it.

I wouldn't recomend telnet.
Because it sends all info uncrypted so if someone sniff the connection they can get all information u send with telnet.

Use SSH, it's not just a Linux application, it's a protocol. OpenSSH
