Unhappy Content filtering needed

Hello All

I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 ,sluggish though a bit its good on my Athlon 1.8G 512MB ram machine .
I've configured content filtering through DansGuardian
and running a startup script taking help from below site.

http://www.howtoforge.com/dansguardi...tu-9.10-karmic

Well my machine is used by everybody in the home and friends as well to browse the internet etc etc . Recently i came to know people were browsing adult sites and viewing explicit content . So began searching for content filtering and came across the above website . I configured accordingly and everything is fine . Its blocking perfectly all the adult sites as well as other normal sites .

>>>Now the problem is its not allowing me to even to download themes(gtk) ,icons and other stuff from gnome-looks.org because of the extension ".gz" ,".zip" etc .

>>>Even some normal sites were blocked and preventing me from downloading stuff.

>>>Some religious sites were also blocked...

So people started complaining .........

Please provide some assistance ...I need to block all adult, pornograhic sites but allowing other sites to accessed...

OpenDNS is good but configuring it in the router makes connection terminate many times .
Do Guarddog will do any help in this ???

Thanks In Advance

Start by having a look around in your /etc directory. Find where
your dansguardian config files are. Read them. Back them up, change
them. I'm sure you'll be able to set it up so everyone is happy
(well, maybe not the people who used to browse adult content, but
that's not what you wanted, anyway).

Cheers,
Tink
