contact FTP server


I know nothing, I now just start about HTML from a, b, c,
But I want who wanna teach me to become a white hacker.
who know it to contact FTP server? what should I do?

not sure i quite understand but to connect to an ftp server from a command line it would simply be:
Code:
ftp <server-name>
then enter user name and password when prompted.
