console prompt problem( bash-3.1#)


I have a problem in my console prompt. It shows
"bash -3.1#", i need it to back like "[root@localhost]#".
Can any one help me plzzz.

export PS1='[\u@\h]#'

To make it permanent, you will need to edit your ~/.bashrc script
