Connecting to Windows

I am running Ubuntu in a VirtualBox, I have successfully connected to my network so I can access the internet. However I would like to pass some picture files from one to the other, but even though I can see the Windows drive in Ubuntu I can't access the drive? I have enabled File & Printer sharing on the Windows PC. Any Ideas? By the way I am very new to Linux.

the easiest way to share between linux and windows is to use winscp under windows to connect to Linux over the ssh service which should already be runnihg.

VirtualBox lets you set up a folder on the host to share with the guest.

In your setup for that OS in VirtualBox, enable shared folders, and pick a folder to share. You must have the guest additions installed for this to work.

Thanks, I got the shared folder to work. I downloaded WINSCP but hadn't a clue how to use it.

winscp is painfully easy! It's a clicky flashy windows program, they're always easy!
