Connecting to the internet!!!
 

I cant connect to the internet in the linux os.

So i have to change it to the windows vista and do the internet everytime.

How to connect to the internet with linux os?

What Linux flavour do you use? Do you connect through a router to the internet or do you use some kind of dial-up like pppoe/pppoa?

Most Linux distro's now ship with NetworkManager, which should help you.

First, tell us which distribution (version) of Linux you are using---eg Ubuntu, Fedora, SUSE, etc.

Have you tried setting up the networking in the utility that the distro provides?

What kind of connection to you have?---eg dialup, DSL, cable modem-----And do you have a router?

i use fedora10

A-- What use is the modem, for dial-up or it serves as modem/router for a "broadband" cable? Fedora goes online automatically: switch on the broadband modem, boot fedora (the system does all the needed handshakes to obtain an IP and have it ready), then launch the browser.

You have to answer these questions first in order for us to help you:

-- What is your problem; what happens when you launch the browser?
-- If modem is for dial up what is the model and have you installed the driver?
-- How far have you done anything to solve it and what came up?

It is easier to help you if we know what is truly happening in your system.
