connecting to Interner in fedora8

hello,
my modem is (Dlink---DFM562is) and that was installed in Fedora8 in Automaticly cause i can see my configuration in ----/etc/sysconfig/hwconf>>>>

---- .i selected 1- /dev/modem 2- /dev/ttys0 and etc. but i can not connect to the internet.

If you're going to use a hardware hog Linux distro, use the piggiest one - OpenSuSE 10.2. If you're stuck on FC8, try installing minicom, and see if it will connect using the modem. Then, try pppd (man pppd) to connect. That's what you use for dial-up, but dial-up with Linux is like trying to swim across the ocean.
