Connect Wired Broadband with Ubuntu 9.10


Hi

I was using windows XP and their i used the internet connection which is wired broadband and require password and username...

I have also used the ubuntu 8.10 in which i used the wired DSL to make connection and my internet was working fine.,..

Now i used ubuntu 9.10 but it is not connected my wired dsl and just switch to etho connection...without giving any error...

please help me and send me solution as early as possible

Right click on the gnome panel -> Add to Panel -> network monitor

Then right click in it -> properties -> general and chose ppp0 on the Connection menu...

Then you just have to double click the icon to see the status.

I hav not find Network Monitor

Thank Raju

but i have not found the network monitor in after add panel...

pllease tell me details

open up your "add/remove programs -> internet -> network manger " is it installed ??

If not install it.
The default ubuntu comes with "network manager" already installed.

If it is installed, then your network manager applet will be placed in notification area.

if it is already installed, then you can open using nm-applet

If you use a modem, seems to me you need pppoeconf
