confusion with dev/hda

...suse 9.1...KDE desktop has a 'my computer' icon, this opens konqueror. On my first install this window would show me all of my partitions, I had two linux partitions show up (i think it was double installed, minimum install on hda3 and a full install on hda4, both 10gig partitions), and two windows partitions (c: & d. Don't ask me how or why i did this, i just did.
Using YaST i managed to

delete hda4,
format hda3,
reinstalled suse 9.1 to hda3,
made hda4 a 512meg swap,
and left about 9 gigs unpartitioned.

Now, the konqueror window shows only
windows (1)

KdiskFree gives me a list that looks like this:

dev type size mount

hda1 ntfs 29 G win c:
hda3 reiserfs 9 G /
hda5 vfat 7 G win d:
sysfs sysfs n\a /sys
tmpfs n\a 125M /dev/shm

So here are the questions...
i. why does konqueror not show my linux partition like it used to?
ii. is my swap file (hda4) there and functioning? how can i check this?
iii. what are the sysfs & tmpfs devices?

I think that you have the normal behavior. The 'My Computer' icon simply runs the konqueror file manager with the URL of "drives:/"

You could change the URL to "devices:/" instead. That will also display the mounted partitions.
