Confusing tutorials: Which one to follow?

Hi everyone,
I'm planing to join the development team of Linux kernel. As the first step, I started to clone git repo of the linux-next that I found two contradictory tutorials:

https://www.kernel.org/doc/man-pages/linux-next.html

https://github.com/gregkh/kernel-tut...rnel_patch.txt

Which one should I follow?

Thanks.

If not already done, start reading Linux Kernel Newbies especially the paragraph under the heading Hacking.

Also, these tutorial are not contradictory but rather complementary.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm familiar a little bit with the kernel newbie website. Let me explain my problem in details:
when you follow https://www.kernel.org/doc/man-pages/linux-next.html you end up having ~/linux directory that have the kernel source.
when you follow https://github.com/gregkh/kernel-tut...rnel_patch.txt you'll have ~/linux/linux-2.6 directory with no linux-next set up.
source codes seem to be the same, but is there any difference to follow any of them? how they're complementary?

Thanks again
